Adult Learn to Row (LTR)

Tribesmen rowing Club runs LTR courses for adults (over 18s) each year, generally in early summer. This is an opportunity to try out rowing to see if you like it.  You will start by learning basic rowing technique on an indoor rowing machine before getting into a stable, four-person boat to learn rowing technique on the river Corrib.  Over the course you will learn how to get into and out of a boat safely, respond to basic rowing commands, basic rowing technique and how to handle a boat and oars on an off the water.

To participate in the course, you must be have a basic level of fitness, be able to swim and be able to get into and out of a boat safely.

To register your interest, email secretary@tribesmen.ie

Tour Boat Rowing for Learners

After successfully completing LTR and being certified by the Head Coach as a competent beginner, you may apply to join Tribesmen Rowing Club as a Learner.  This will enable you to continue to develop your rowing skills by rowing regularly in tour boat in a convened crew, under the guidance of an experienced cox.

Ongoing development

After at least one year as a Learner, you can continue to develop your rowing skills through our Rowing Development system.
